Simplifying and Appreciating Life

On arrival in Puerto Escondito, Mexico, we reflect on the differences between our old life back in San Diego and our life on the road. We used to drive luxury cars which were considered so important to us at the time, but since embarking on our round the world trip, we haven’t driven a car in two years.

Our travelling life is so much more simple and we can appreciate the small things life has to offer, like a stroll to the beach. Whilst we would have loaded all of our daughter’s things into the car and worried about where to park in San Diego, in contrast we now hit la playa with a bottle of water and a sarong. Travelling opens your eyes to the realisation that all these material things don’t matter, that what you think is important to you doesn’t matter at all, and what really matters is happiness and well being.
