Lake Tahoe…love this place, but as a corporate engineer staying for more than a weekend was just out of the question. First time I came to Tahoe was in 1997….I just fell in love with this place. I had just finished my engineering degree at the University of Illinois and was sent out to San Francisco to start my training for 6 months with my new corporate gig.

I always told myself that I would have freedom one day. I just didn’t know how to make it happen. My reality right now, is that I am looking out at Lake Tahoe & the beautiful snow-capped mountains from our living room windows here in South Lake Tahoe as I write this. My family has been out here since January enjoying the snowboarding season and will be here until August…just enjoying life and hanging out.

We have been traveling the world non-stop for the past 4.5 years and my little girl just celebrated her 6th birthday a few weeks ago. The great thing about it…we don’t have jobs, and we didn’t save a bunch of money to make make it happen. We started an online business which allows us to work anywhere in the world. I could tell you all about making 6 figures / year no matter where in the world we are. I could also tell you about the benefits of our life, though I’ll just share a quick story on how we got to this point right now.

I remember in 1997 hanging out at Harrahs and Harveys saying one day I won’t have to go back to work on monday. The reality was that I went back to work as an engineer for 9.5 years of my life. I wish I could give you horror story about my job, but I can’t really. It was a good “job”…I made 6 figures, had a company car, insurance & benefits . There was just no freedom in the job and I had no passion in. People saw me as Brian the Engineer, but at the core…it was not me

The reason I become an engineer in the first place…I was good at math & science and my high school counselor suggested it. I had no passion whatsoever for it, though it was a great paycheck just coming out of college.

About 3 to 4 years into my job, I was walking through a trade show when I made eye contact with a gentleman who appeared to be in his mid 40’s who was slouched behind his company’s booth. I never spoke with him though you could read his energy…he just looked TIRED. I imagine he had been doing the same thing for the last 20 years…and probably doing it for the next 20 years. At that moment, I made a decision that I would never be that guy.

I am grateful for everything in my life I had…great family upbringing, good schools & never went hungry growing up. It would make the story way better lol, but I am just being authentic with you.

My wife was actually the one started our journey online 8+ years ago. She wanted to start a family, though she did not want to put our ‘future’ children in daycare. She was also making 6 figures at her corporate job with a company car, benefits, etc…..so her idea sounded just crazy to me. I said, “Honey, even if I’m my bosses’ boss…I still wouldn’t be able to make enough money to replace both of our incomes or afford our mortgage” She told me to find a better job and I told her to find something she could work from home. In the next month, she started an online business and invested $25,000 on websites, lead management systems, and conferences to learn from people.

In her first 3 months, she had not made a dime. Everyday I hounded her & asked when the money would be coming in from this “internet thing”. Looking back, I should have been much more of a supportive husband. All I knew back then was to have a job, get paid and try not to get fired. This internet concept was all new to me….and I really didn’t think it was possible. In her 7 month in business, she really shut me up when she had a $37,000 profit month. She then retired me from my corporate job 7 months later…and I started working alongside my wife at home.

People see us traveling all over the world, and ask us exactly how do we do it. Well, there are some keys factors that made it happen…
1) A mentor who actually cares about your success and can you show you the way.
2) A proven system that is simple enough that a 12 year old could do it.
3) Mindset training to shift from an employee to an entrepreneur.

What I want do now is to show you exactly how we run our business, and also give you a $1500 Mindset exercise which was the very first thing I did when I shifted from an employee to an entrepreneur…for FREE. I will share access for both of these with you on the next page.http://6figuresurfer.com/

If you are in Lake Tahoe right now, you may see my Family walking or biking through town…make sure to say ‘hi’. We’ll be here till the end of July.
