BalanceDay 13 of Unstoppable Road Tripping focuses on Core Values and Philosophies.

We have had an absolute blast returning and visiting Michigan, where my parents live, and Brian in Aspen Colorado visiting his past “Mate” from college.

We have always maintained a high “Core Value” for friends & family even as we have been traveling.   That means keeping contact with them through SKYPE while we are out of the USA and returning back to visit when we are back in the USA.

Your core values will shine through everything you do even in business, so understanding and know what your core values are can not only help you become more connected and aligned with your belief but also your customers.

What Are Core Values?

“Core values are the fundamental beliefs of a person or organization. The core values are the guiding principles that dictate behavior and action. Core values can help people to know what is right from wrong; they can help companies to determine if they are on the right path and fulfilling their business goals, and they create an unwavering and unchanging guide. There are many different types of core values and many different examples of core values depending upon the context?

How To Define Your Values

When you define your values, you discover what’s truly important to you.   A good way of starting to do this is to look back on your life – to identify when you felt really good and really confident that you were making good choices.

Step 1: Identify the times when you were happiest

Find examples from both your business and personal life.  (This will ensure some balance in your answers)

Step 2: Identify the times when you were most proud

Use examples from your career and personal life.

Step 3: Identify the times when you were most fulfilled and satisfied

Again, use both work and personal examples.

Step 4: Determine your top values, based on your experiences of happiness, pride, and fulfillment

Why is each experience truly important and memorable?

Use the following list of common personal values to help you get started – and aim for about 10 top values.

You can apply this formula to any area in your life to define and identify your core values.   The clearer you are about your beliefs and values the more clear your messages will also be to your family, friends, and customers.

3 Legged Table Philosophy

As our family has been traveling the world the “3 Legged Table” Philosophy developed to keep us all in line and balanced while we are on the road, but you don’t have to  be on the

UNSTOPPABLE Loving Family
UNSTOPPABLE Loving Family

road like us to practice this powerful mindset way of keeping your life in balance.

Set up a 3 legged table in any area that you want to create balance.  We start with our Family, then our business.

It’s simple for us to focus on our families table because there are only 3 of us that fill each leg.  At any given moment one of us can be off, but since we are aware of the philosophy one of us can say “Your  Leg is Off”  and we can snap back into shape.   Even my 6-year-old, Hanalei understands the 3 legged table concept and acts when we remind her.

You can build a 3 legged table for your business to stay in flow and balance.

For me, I do a video every day, write a blog post and share with my list…this keeps me on point and I know exactly what I need to do right when I wake up.  ( I also refer to my business table as my “Marketing Wheel”  ( see on a past post)

We hope you enjoyed this post and implement some of our philosophies into your life.

Please share below your thoughts and comments.

Don’t forget….BE UNSTOPPABLE
