Another one bites the Dust! This is becoming my motto here this past month on the North Shore as I have either snapped or buckled 3 Guns in the past 30 days. The upside is that I am keeping the surfboard shapers happy here on the North Shore.
The surf at Sunset Beach on March 23, 2010 was in the 2-3 times overhead range (12-18ft on the face) with great conditions this morning. After a few good rides from the West Peak, I got caught by a clean-up set which buckled my favorite gun of them all…a 7’10” Tim Carroll board that Rhonda gave me for my wedding present 6 1/2 years ago where we were married in Hanalei Bay, Kauai.
What can I say, this Gun has served me well across the world of big waves from Hawaii (Kauai, Oahu), California, Mexico, Western Australia & South Africa….
