10 Tips for Becoming an Unstoppable Entrepreneur

Want to be UNSTOPPABLE? Here are my top 10 tips to becoming an Unstoppable Entrepreneur:

1. Love what you do

If you are going to run a business to live a sustainable traveling life like we do, then you have to be passionate about your products or service and love every part of what you do. Nothing is worse than being on the trip of your dreams and hating the way you have to make money to continue traveling. The same goes for anything in life; if you are doing something you do not love you will not maintain the steam to sustain your success.

2. Prepare for the Marathon, not the sprint

So many people overestimate what they can do in the short term and completely underestimate what they can do in the long term.  Most businesses do not become an overnight success, and more become a success story when they are prepared for the long hall and stay committed to their purpose. I have never read a biography or success story of someone that didn’t have to work for their success or who found the quick way to success. Be committed and dedicated to your business and do not be easily swayed one way or the other. As Andy Andrews once said, “Successful people make decisions quickly and change them slowly. Unsuccessful people make decisions slowly and change them quickly.”

3. Understand the law of Reaping and Sowing

Every business has its seasons. There is a time to reap and a time to sow, and if you are prepared and understand these times in your business you will be able to move confidently and securely to the next season. You cannot always reap, smell the flowers and relax but if you properly sow, there will be a time that you can sit back for a moment and enjoy the fruits of your efforts.

4. Marketplace Pays for Value

Customers are loyal to people not to products. No matter what industry you are in you must add value to your customers and show them that you are the one they can trust. Relying on your company or someone else to create value to your customers only takes your credibility away and gives it to someone else. Right from the start you should begin to create who you are and your presence on the Internet and Social Media by using YouTube, Facebook, Twitter and other social medial sites that allow you to create a biography. As you grow in your business and industry, these actions will create a footprint for the future of your business and allow you to create a connection with your customers.

5. Hand Holding Slows Everyone Down

Give yourself to those that deserve your time and will do something with it, not those that want your time and will not do with it what is needed to create results. There is a fine line between coaching someone to success and handholding. Those that ask “how” questions and come to the table with a solution are the ones you want to give time to. I have a rule for people I work with that want additional time with me. We always schedule a time for a 1 on 1 conversation and I require that they come with an agenda, questions and possible solutions. This way we can get to the point, make things happen and walk through solutions together. People that come to a coaching session just waiting for you to tell them what to do fall into the hand holding category and that slows everyone down.

6. There is a Bottomless Pit of Possibilities

The moment you start thinking you’re done…is the moment you are. Expand your mind to every possibility available for making money, happiness, relationships, or results. The only limits are the ones we put on ourselves, so let your mind run wild and be open to new possibilities. When you restrict how something is going to manifest, you block other forces that are at work, so be open to all possibilities that can make your dreams a reality.

7. Passion Is the “Goose Juice”

There is nothing like waking up on a Monday morning and being pumped to start your day. This why living your passion everyday is one of the most important factors to living a life of fun, happiness and abundance. Have you ever met someone that just oozes with happiness and zest? Have you ever asked; “What is that person on”? Well, most likely they are “On” Passion!  When you are excited about what you do the Universe gives you all the energy you need to keep moving forward. Have you ever been so excited about something that you can’t sleep but don’t feel tired? If so, you are probably experiencing pure passion running through your body. This is the “Goose Juice” and everybody wants to get a sip of it. You will become a magnet to great things in your life when you are living a life of passion and purpose.

8. Never Judge a Book by its Cover

Some of the people you give the least amount of credit too can be the ones that shock you the most. If someone has the desire and the will to succeed nothing can stop them. We have worked with people that come to our coaching calls, speak with such grace and confidence, and talk a big story but when it comes down to getting to business and going after what they want, they are the ones that fade off into the night. Then we will have a person that comes in, keeps a low key and doesn’t give you the impression that they will do much, but these are the ones that blow you away. They get focused, believe in themselves and simply go after what they came for, while the other guy is still talking about how he is going to be the next BIG player. We live the philosophy that everyone has something to offer and that everyone, no matter what their income level, education level, age or stage of life, deserves the same respect as anyone on the street.

9. Everything you have done in the past contributes to your success today

Some of the worst things that have ever happened to us have become the best gifts in our life. When we found out in 07′ that our real-estate Investments were turning for the worst and that the developer had stolen all the cash and we were losing everything, it certainly didn’t feel good. But because of that experience we are now living the “Life of our Dreams”. You see, we probably would have never left our home in San Diego, or ventured off too far from the norm, but because of what happened we got a jolt of possibly and had the opportunity to start over with a clean slate. Every failure, obstacle, and challenge that has happened to you has made you who you are today. So embrace your past and thank the universe for allowing you to experience these challenges and learn to make Lemonade out of Lemons.

10. Fail Forward Fast

Failing is inevitable in every area of life, but failure should be embraced and used as a stepping stone for your next venture, big or small. The faster you fail forward, the sooner you get to what you are meant to BE, DO and HAVE. But if you hang on to the devastation of failure and prevent yourself from moving forward fast, you stop all the energy that is in line for your next big success and stop the flow of abundance. You see the Universe has a perfect accounting system, therefore all negatives must be balanced with a positive, so the faster you get through your failures, the faster you will be balanced with success.
